It’s painfully obvious that my hemospectrum chart has gained a lot of popularity. However, I’ve long been meaning to update it in a more concise, organized way. Keep in mind, though, that Andrew Hussie is on record saying there are only 13 canon colors. Therefore, you can completely ignore this ridiculous chart that has had far too much effort put into it. Additionally, it has been stated that each caste has multiple colors, which may or may not correspond to color. I highly recommend that fantrolls have symbols unique from the canon trolls’. Finally, keep in mind that the colors marked with signs are not exact matches to the in-comic colors, but eyedroppered and matched to the closest web color.
Let’s begin with the lowest caste: Rust bloods. Remember that the ranks are assigned based on this, which is fanmade and likely inaccurate, thus Karkat is included.
Let’s examine this. The top color, 330000 is very close to black and therefore likely not a viable blood color, if you will let that stop you from using it for your fantroll. Karkats color, on the bottom and the brightest, is a canon mutant color, so, again, likely not a good color for your fantroll, but no one is going to stop you from using that either. In later castes, a similar pattern is observed, with it ordered from darkest to brightest.
On to the fudgebloods.
I believe that the topmost and bottommost levels of the pyramid would be bad colors to use for a fantroll, but they’re included anyways. Also note that Tavros has very brown blood compared to what is seen in many fanworks, so perhaps a more neutral color is best. Additionally, FF1100 and FF2200 are, visually, near-identical to Karkat’s color of FF0000, and would definitely have the same mutant status.
333300 and FFFF00 are likely mutant colors.
This chart is set up a little differently than the others. The darkest color, 334400, in my opinion, would likely be a viable blood color. All of the bright one, the rightmost ones, however, are likely mutants, though you could argue for CCFF00.
Hmm, this one has no canon representatives. They might be called “limebloods”, then. 001100, 002200, 00EE00, and 00FF00 are likely mutants.
Yikes, this one is huge! While Kanaya is in this one, her color and I think, surrounding colors are given “jadeblood” privilege, mean they are treated as high class despite that they should be somewhere in the middle. The two leftmost and rightmost are likely mutants.
The top and bottom two are likely mutants.
I think the bottom three rows as well as 00CCFF-00EEFF are likely mutants.
Now hold on, why is Equius’s sign on here again? It’s meant to represent Darkleer, who has much darker blood than his descendant in the comic, at least in the panel I eyedroppered from. Anyways, 000011-000033 and 0000FF are likely mutants.
Ah, Gamzee’s class. A lot of potential mutants, but I’ll just let you use you’re own judgment. However, it’s canon that Gamzee’s blood is the purplest a land dweller can have, so anything to the right should be a sea dweller.
330033 and FF00FF are likely mutants.
Feferi’s caste, finally. Now, why on Earth do I have her symbol up there twice? The white one is Fef, the black is the Empress, who has noticeably pinker blood, which, in comic, is defined as lower on the caste system than Feferi’s. Therefore, the two to the left and the two rows below are likely mutants or are technically on the other end of the caste system.
In conclusion; I’m not here to tell you which colors you can and can’t use, if you wanna use something other than what’s in my charts, I don’t care. I’m not Hussie, you can feel free to ignore me completely. Please direct any questions here and kindly disregard any misspellings and incorrect grammer u__u
